Judy Keen

Fused Glass Artist

Judy Keen is aa glass artist working in the field of fused and kiln-formed glass in Eagle Creek, Oregon. Her contemporary glass designs include vases, bowls, platters and decorative art pieces.

Judy Keen working in her StudioSand-etching, torch-working and layering for depth are some of the techniques Judy uses to achieve a wide variety of styles and looks in her designs. Many of her pieces have raised design elements using iridescent and dichroic glass or torch-work detailed flowers. And COLOR! Lots of color.

A native Californian, Judy grew up in a small town near Fresno. Working in textiles as a district manager of a fabric chain gave her exposure to texture, color and design. She moved with her husband and two young sons to Oregon in 1984. Following a career as a florist of over 20 years, she found her passion in fused glass. Judy continues to draw from her experience with design and use of color in her studio to explore new and creative techniques.

Artist Statement


Since being introduced to fused glass in 2004, I have been captivated by it’s transformative qualities. It seems a little” magical” to be able to take a ridged material like glass and heating it, combining it and shaping it to come out with something completely different. I have always been drawn to pursuits with creative aspects such as floral designing and acrylic or oil painting. With glass, I have a creative outlet in which I am able to put my love of color and design to use everyday. The enjoyment for me comes from creating and the endless possibilities still yet to explore as I strive to keep my art fresh and unique. –Judy Keen
